Prices for strategy testing and automation

Every job has a fixed price, agreed in writing against a written specification. The feasibility read gives you a price range first.

Trading carries risk. The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you can lose money. Past or tested results are not a guide to future results. We sell software and testing only: no advice, no signals, no promise of profit. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. Read the full notice.

The price list

Testing and validation

Testing your rules

Priced once the rules are unambiguous.

  • Feasibility read
Your rules read and the data checked. A written answer on what can be tested, what it needs, and a price range. Credited in full against work you commission within 60 days of the written result, up to the price of that work. After that the credit lapses. It is never paid back as cash.
    £195
  • Single strategy test
One instrument, one timeframe. Coded, tested on out-of-sample data with costs modelled, a parameter check, a trade-order Monte Carlo and a written report.
    From £450
  • Full validation
Everything in a single test, plus walk-forward analysis, full parameter sensitivity, the price-path Monte Carlo and a full robustness report. Overfitting statistics where several variants were tried.
    From £1,450
  • Multi-instrument or portfolio
The same rules across several instruments, or several rule sets tested together.
    From £1,950
  • Historical data
Where the job needs data that has to be bought. Passed on at cost and agreed before it is bought.

Building and automation

Putting it into software

MQL5 or Python. Quoted once the rules are written down, whether or not we did the testing.

  • Indicator or script
    Single-purpose and self-contained.
    From £180
  • Automating a rule set
Single strategy, single instrument, coded to your specification.
    From £550
  • Advanced build
Multiple instruments, advanced risk handling, and state that survives a restart.
    From £1,200
  • Code diagnostic
Your existing code read and run, with a written report on what is wrong and what it would cost to fix. Credited in the same way as the feasibility read.
    £145
  • Review, debug and harden
Your existing system tested against its failure modes and documented. Quoted from the diagnostic.
    From £250
  • MT4 to MT5 migration
Ported, tested and documented. Quoted against the MQL4 source.
    From £400
  • Support
    Changes and help after handover.
    On request

What moves the price

The number of rules, the number of instruments, and how complex the logic is. Data that has to be bought is passed on at cost and agreed before it is bought. The price includes the AI usage our work needs. Every quote gives an estimate, and we ask for your written agreement before it passes twice that figure. We do not take work under £180, apart from the £145 code diagnostic.

The specification sets the price

We price once your rules are clear. We agree in writing what counts as a signal, and what happens on a gap, a requote, a partial fill or a lost connection. If the fixed price would be above the range, you can stop, keep the rule set, and pay only for the work done.

Payment

Each quote states its deposit, typically 50%, with the exact figure written in the quote. A quote is valid for 30 days from its date. Prices shown are the total you pay. We are not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is charged. If that changes we will tell you before it applies to you.

Handover and source

At handover you get full commented source, the specification, documentation and a walkthrough. The code written for your rules is yours once paid in full.

30 days of fixes

For 30 days after delivery we fix any fault against the agreed scope at no charge. The work is complete when we deliver what the specification lists; the 30 days of fixes follow it and are not part of it. Support after that is priced on request. This does not affect your legal rights.

Cancelling

Once we have delivered the report, test result or code, the work is complete and the fee is not refundable. If what we deliver does not match the written specification, we put it right, and if we cannot, we refund what you paid for that part. If you buy as an individual, you can cancel within 14 days of accepting a quote. If you ask us to start early and then cancel, you pay for the work done, and you lose the right to cancel once the work is fully complete. We confirm that with you by email before we start. Businesses do not have the 14-day right. Section 11 of our terms has the detail, and nothing here affects your legal rights.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is written into our standard terms from the first conversation. A separate non-disclosure agreement is available at no cost before you send anything. Your strategy is never run on shared or public testing networks unless you ask us to in writing.

Questions

Why is there a price range before the fixed price?

We cannot fix a price until your rules are clear. The feasibility read gives a range. Once your rules are pinned down, the fixed price follows.

Is the feasibility read fee credited?

Yes. It is credited in full against work you commission within 60 days of the date on the written result, up to the price of that work. After that the credit lapses. It is never paid back as cash. The £145 code diagnostic is credited in the same way.

How long does it take?

We give you a date with the fixed quote, once your rules are pinned down.

Does the price change if the test shows my idea does not work?

No. The price is the same whatever the result.

What counts as a fault?

A fault is something that does not match the written specification. A test result that differs from what you hoped, or a strategy that does not behave as you expected, is not a fault. Changes to your rules or the scope are a new quote.
