Terms and conditions
The terms for using this website and for any product you buy from us through it.
Version 1.5 · Effective 31 October 2026
1. Who we are
These terms apply to your use of brightdragontrading.com and to any product you buy from us through it.
The website and products are provided by BrightDragon Systems Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17419550, with its registered office at Office 1884, 60 Tottenham Court Road, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 2EW. BrightDragon Trading is a trading name of BrightDragon Systems Ltd. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean BrightDragon Systems Ltd.
You can contact us at hello@brightdragonsystems.com.
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
2. How you buy from us
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders.
When you buy a product, you are buying it from Paddle, under Paddle's own buyer terms, which you will see and accept at checkout. Paddle takes payment, charges any sales tax or VAT that applies, issues your receipt and handles payment questions and refunds. We supply the product itself and support you in using it, under these terms.
Prices on this website are shown in pounds sterling. Any tax that applies where you live is added or included at checkout, and the checkout always shows the total you will pay before you pay it.
3. What you get when you buy a product
Digital products (workbooks, templates, software tools and games) are delivered by download link or access details sent after payment.
Your licence. When you buy a product, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it:
- if you are an individual, for your own use;
- if you buy for a business, for use inside that one business.
You may make copies for backup and adapt a workbook or template for your own use. You may not resell, share publicly, sublicense or redistribute the product, or present it as your own work.
The Trading Journal. The Trading Journal is sold under a personal licence instead: it is for one person to use for their own trading records, on their own devices. A sole trader who trades through their own company may use it for that trading, because it is still one person’s own use. You must not share, sell, resell, rent, lend, sublicense or upload the file or otherwise make it available to anyone else, use it for a team, a desk or anyone else’s trading, or remove or change the licence ID and notices in it. If you want it for a team or a desk, ask us for a commercial licence. Each copy carries a licence ID unique to your order, which we keep with your order record. If a copy carrying your licence ID is shared or resold, we may end your updates and support for that licence, ask the websites or platforms hosting the copies to remove them, and take other action to protect our copyright. This does not affect your legal rights.
Lifetime licences. The Trading Journal is sold as a lifetime licence. There is no renewal fee and no end date: you may keep using the version you downloaded for as long as you wish. It includes any update we release to the Trading Journal, at no extra cost, for as long as we continue to sell and support it; to receive one, email us your licence ID. “Lifetime” means the life of the product, not the life of the buyer. If we stop supporting the Trading Journal we will say so on its page, and your licence to use the versions you already have continues. A lifetime licence does not include add-ons or extras, which we sell separately. Your licence ends if you are refunded, or if we end your access under section 9.
Downloading. After you pay, we email you a link to your copy. The link works for 14 days and allows up to 5 downloads. If it runs out or you lose it, email us and we will send a new link for the same order.
We keep ownership. We own the products, this website and everything on it, including the software, text, designs, films and the BrightDragon name and logo. Buying a product gives you a licence to use it, not ownership of it.
Your rights by law. Digital content we supply must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality (Consumer Rights Act 2015). If it is not, tell us and we will repair or replace it; if that is not possible, or does not fix it within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a refund. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
4. Cancelling and refunds
Our Refund Policy explains how refunds work and how to ask for one. In short: you can cancel within 14 days until you start the download; once you start the download, the right to cancel ends and we do not refund a change of mind; a faulty product is always fixed, replaced or refunded; and refunds are processed by Paddle.
If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase. For digital content, that right ends once the download or access begins, if you agreed at checkout to receive the content straight away and acknowledged that you would lose the right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 37). At checkout you are asked to tick a box to confirm both points, and we keep a record of that tick with your order. Faulty products are always covered, as section 3 explains.
Each product you download is marked with your order number.
4a. Subscriptions
Some of our software may be sold as a subscription. Where it is, the checkout shows the price, how often you will be charged and when, before you pay. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through paddle.net or the link in your receipt email, and cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. If we change a subscription price, we will tell you before the change applies, and you can cancel before it does. Subscription billing is handled by Paddle under its buyer terms.
5. Trading and investment products: no advice
Our trading and investment tools, calculators, workbooks and automations carry out the calculations and instructions you give them. They do not give financial advice or recommendations, do not tell you what to buy or sell, and do not give signals. Any content about markets is general and educational.
We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and we do not provide regulated financial services.
Trading carries risk and you can lose money. Any decision to trade, and any strategy the software implements, is entirely yours. No software can guarantee an outcome, and past testing results are not a reliable indicator of future results.
6. Products for children
BrightDragon Kids products are made for children to use, but are bought and set up by a parent or carer. You must be 18 or over to buy from us.
7. Using the website
You must not:
- use the website or our products for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- send spam, or use our contact form to send unsolicited marketing;
- copy, scrape or republish our content or tools, except as the licence in section 3 allows;
- try to break, probe or overload the website, or introduce malware.
The free tools on this website are provided for you to use, not to copy, reproduce or offer as your own service.
8. Availability
We work to keep the website and our products running, but we cannot promise they will always be available or free of errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the website or a product. If we withdraw a product you have paid for and cannot use, we will arrange a refund.
9. Suspending access
We may suspend or end your access to a product or the website if you break these terms in a serious or repeated way, if a payment is not made or is reversed, or if we reasonably suspect fraud or a security risk. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
10. Our responsibility to you
If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, and we supply products for domestic and private use only, so we are not responsible for loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.
If you are a business: our total liability to you for any product is limited to the price you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill.
For everyone: nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
11. Bespoke work and consultations
Bespoke builds and consultations are not sold through Paddle. They are agreed separately, in writing, and those written terms apply to them instead of these.
Your right to cancel a service (individuals only). If you buy as an individual, wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession, you can cancel within 14 days of the day you accept our quote, without giving a reason. We won't start work in those 14 days unless you ask us to in writing. If you ask us to start early and then cancel, you pay a fair share of the price for the work done up to the time you tell us. Once the work is fully complete, you no longer have the right to cancel, provided you asked us to start early and agreed that you would lose the right at that point. Where you are buying finished code or software delivered digitally, we will only send it within the 14 days if you ask us to and agree that you lose the right to cancel once we start sending it. We confirm your choices by email before we start, and every quote comes with a cancellation form. To cancel, email hello@brightdragonsystems.com; we refund any money due within 14 days of hearing from you. Businesses do not have this right. Work arranged through MQL5 Freelance is also subject to that platform's rules, which do not take these rights away. This does not affect your legal rights.
After we deliver. The work is complete when we deliver what the written specification lists. The fix period in your quote follows delivery and is a promise to fix faults, not part of the work. Once the work is complete, the fee is not refundable, except as set out here and where the law gives you a right to a refund. If what we deliver does not match the written specification, we put it right. If we cannot, we refund what you paid for that part. A fault is something that does not match the specification. A test result that differs from what you hoped, or a strategy that does not behave as you expected, is not a fault. Changes to what the specification lists are a new quote. This does not affect your legal rights.
12. Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Notice.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version and date at the top show the current version. The terms in force when you buy a product apply to that purchase.
14. Complaints and law
If something goes wrong, email hello@brightdragonsystems.com and we will try to put it right.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there.
